I created this website in 2022 to be a typical academic website, when I was still a PhD candidate at MIT.

After graduating and a brief stint as Associate Political Scientist at RAND doing research for the U.S. government, I landed a dream job working for the U.S. Department of State’s Japan Desk. At that time, aware of the potential for espionage activities directed against federal workers, I scrubbed this website though I stopped short of deleting it.

Six weeks ago, when I could no longer support U.S. policy under the new president, I resigned. Two days ago, I moved to Haarlem, the Netherlands.

I am not sure what comes next… But as I start over professionally in a new country, I decided to refresh this website so that I could use it to document what I am up to and start building my reputation and networks (without being beholden to one of the major tech companies).

If you came here from my LinkedIn profile, please feel free to take a look around and get to know me! I enjoyed both my research and policy experiences and I am open-minded about what comes next, though I am particularly interested in any Japan- and/or international security-related role.
